Literacy at WMISD
English Language Arts services at Wexford-Missaukee ISD are based on the Michigan Department of Education English Language Arts Standards and Benchmarks and the Career and College Readiness Standards. Our mission is to provide support and leadership for balanced literacy instruction throughout the ISD by equipping students with the communication skills necessary to become literate and informed individuals.
We support our local districts by providing staff development, committee work, offering building and district in-service, training on specific standards or areas of the Michigan Curriculum Framework, and bringing in outside speakers, as well as writing and managing grants.
